Will World End in 2012? Many Prepare

Two years ago, Patrick Geryl, then 51, quit his job as a laboratory worker for a French oil company. He’d saved up just enough money to last him until December 2012. After that, he thought, he wouldn’t need it anyway.

Instead, Geryl, a soft-spoken man who had studied chemistry in his younger years, started preparing for the apocalypse. He founded a “survival group” for likeminded men and women, aimed at living through the catastrophe he knew was coming.

He started gathering materials necessary to survive — water purifiers, wheelbarrows (with spare tires), dust masks and vegetable seeds. His list of survival goods runs 11 pages long.

“You have to understand, there will be nothing, nothing left,” Geryl told ABC News from his home in Antwerp, Belgium. “We will have to start an entire civilization from scratch.”

That’s because Geryl believes the world as we know it will end in 2012. He points to the ancient Maya cyclical calendars, the longest of which last renewed itself approximately 5,125 years ago and is set to end again, supposedly with catastrophic consequences, in 2012. He speaks of the ancient Egyptians, who, he claims, saw 2012 as a year of great change too. And he points to science: NASA predicts a sharp increase in the number of sunspots and sun flares for 2012, he said, sure to cause electrical failures and satellite disruptions.

I probably wouldn’t quit my job just because the world would supposedly end right on 12/21/2008. Even God instructed people not to quit what they’re doing but to be ready spiritually (know Jesus as the one and only way to God) and follow Jesus. I hope the best for this man and that he uses his time for God’s glory, reaching out to those who don’t know Jesus with the time that he has.

    In Christ

I wish to relate something important to all of you…. The End of the Mayan Calendar is not the End of the world….it’s the end of the world “as we know it”.
We are in for major changes for sure, what they are exactly I’m not sure, and the Mayans didn’t know either. That’s why the calendar stops…they could not “see” beyond that point….The end of a Great Cycle. Something totally new and different….a better world ….IF WE CHOOSE IT! People speak of the 2nd coming, and Gods Chosen. That was not Translated properly , It is not who God “chooses”……. It is the ones who Choose GOD. (see the difference?, not the chosen, but the ones who chose!). As far as stockpiling goes….I believe the idea is actually to get rid of things that anchor us to this existence. When reality shifts all will be provided by the Creator, and what we choose to create. Hence the term present or….Pre- sent / Fore given. God, Goddess, All That Is, Prime Creator loves us unconditionally/ eternally, Trust in Love, Light , and God , and you’ll be fine.
What do YOU choose….the time is now …..choose well…hope to see you ALL in the Garden soon. Sincerely, Truthfully, Always, Love, Rick
    (P.S. Thanx Big G, I Love you!)

Well, there is NO possible way to “prepare” for the end of the world. God said “When these troubled times come, look up, yor time is comming”. So,im not worried at all when the end of the world is comming. I dont think its any where near time for it to happen. The world is jsut not evil enough. And that MORON who said we will have to start a new civilization it stupid (sorry if i spelt that wrong only in 8th grade). Cause there is NO escaping the end of the world.
I hope too that he knows Jesus christ. God bless all those who wont be joing us in Heaven.

Oh, have you ever wondered what you would think about jesus if you lived in his time period? Also what do you picture heaven like. Me i think were all gonna be fat and jolly (no offence to anyone) or, well idk,its SOOO much better than we think its gonna be and Hell well. OUCH.
