A Christian minister who has spent time in jail because of a state “hate crimes” law is warning that the federal legislation, now pending on President Obama’s desk, is “one of the most dangerous pieces of federal legislation in the history of our nation.”

The comment comes from Michael Marcavage of Repent America. He was among a group that became known as the “Philadelphia 11″ that made national headlines in 2004.

That was when the Christians, ministering at a homosexual festival, were accused under a state “hate crimes” law.

[...]

The bill, H.R. 2647, the National Defense Authorization Act, include the “hate crimes” plan that “expands criminal penalties against anyone who harms an individual based on ‘gender identity’ or ’sexual orientation,’ thus posing a serious threat to biblical evangelism and active stances against the sin of homosexuality’.

America Moving from Kingdom of Cash to Socialism – Pravda

economic collapse

I don’t know what amazes me more… This story or the fact that the story comes from Pravda. The last turning point similar to the current one happened approximately 400 years ago. The Western European society discovered a new hierarchy of values. Feudalism that valued service and chivalry was replaced with capitalism. Wealth became the measure of success, and everyone was to care about his own pocket only. The cult of money replaced all other values, including religious.

Capitalism turned everything upside down and made people more excited about stuffing their bank accounts than anything else. This system turned out to be extremely efficient in terms of production of goods, services, and comfort. America benefited from the system the most, and decided that the rest of the world has to adopt it as well. If some underdeveloped countries are unable to appreciate the benefits of capitalism, they should be forced to do it.

For One Episcopal Parish, a Path to Catholicism

When the Vatican announced last week that it would welcome groups of traditionalist Anglicans into the Roman Catholic Church, leaders of one Episcopal parish celebrated as if a ship had arrived to rescue them from a drifting ice floe.

Bishop David Moyer of the Church of the Good Shepherd welcomes a Vatican decision to embrace traditionalist Anglicans.

“We’d been praying for this daily for two years,” said Bishop David L. Moyer, who leads the Church of the Good Shepherd, a parish in the Main Line suburbs of Philadelphia that is battling to keep its historic property. “When I heard the news I was speechless, then the joy came and the tears.”

This parish could be one of the first in the United States to convert en masse after the Vatican completes plans for a new structure to allow Anglicans to become Catholic while retaining many of their spiritual traditions, like the Book of Common Prayer and married priests.

A North Carolina pastor plans to host a Halloween event at his church to burn heretical books. At the top of the list — the Bible.

Pastor Marc Grizzard claims the King James version of the Bible is the only true word of God, and that all other versions are “satanic” and “perversions” of God’s word.

On Halloween night, Grizzard and the 14 members of the Amazing Grace Baptist Church will set fire to other versions of the scripture, as well as music and books by Christian authors.

“We are burning books that we believe to be Satanic,” Pastor Grizzard said.

Regulatory Czar Urges Abolish Sanctioning of Marriage

The U.S. government should abolish its sanctioning of marriage, argued Cass Sunstein, President Obama’s regulatory czar.

Sunstein proposed that the concept of marriage should become privatized, with the state only granting civil union contracts to couples wishing to enter into an agreement.

Sunstein explained marriage licensing is unnecessary, pointing out people stay committed to organizations like country clubs and homeowner associations without any government interference.

“Under our proposal, the word marriage would no longer appear in any laws, and marriage licenses would no longer be offered or recognized by any level of government,” wrote Sunstein and co-author Richard Thaler in their 2008 book, “Nudge: Improving decisions about health, wealth and happiness.”

Vatican Creates New Church Structure For Non-Catholics

Pope Benedict has approved a new church provision that will allow non-Catholics and in particular, the Anglicans, to convert to Catholicism while at the same time, maintaining many of their distinctive spiritual and liturgical traditions.

The Vatican made this decision in response to the disillusionment of some Anglicans over the election of openly gay bishops and the blessing of same sex marriage which has caused a major uproar in the Anglican church not only in England, but across the world.

This never-before provision for Protestants to become a part of the Catholic Church has many Protestant leaders concerned about the breakdown in doctrinal differences between the Catholics and Protestants that came out of the Reformation 500 years ago.

If Israel Strikes Iran, U.S. Will Likely Join

The United States would find it difficult not to join an Israeli air strike in the event that Jerusalem decides to strike Iran’s nuclear facilities, a former top-ranking U.S. Air Force officer told participants at a conference this weekend organized by a Washington think tank.

Charles F. Wald, former deputy commander of United States European Command, said a military strike on Iran could set back the Islamic Republic’s alleged nuclear weapons program by several years, but cautioned, “I don’t think Israel can do it alone.”

The former commander’s remarks were made at an annual gathering of financial backers of the Washington Institute for Near East Policy, who were joined by diplomats, journalists and analysts.

“They have a fantastic military, but not big enough for weeks or months of attacks – hundreds of sorties per day,” he said.

Tsunami Threat Looms Over Pacific Northwest

The Pacific Northwest needs to brace itself for a massive tsunami that will likely destroy homes, hurl cars against buildings, and threaten the lives of tens of thousands of people, experts say.

The northwest is due for a big earthquake-generated tsunami, just like the waves that slammed Samoa last month and the Indian Ocean in 2004.However, the region hasn’t adequately prepared for the deluge, said geotechnical engineer Yumei Wang, of the Oregon Department of Geology and Mineral Industries in Portland.

Her proposal: Build a series of tsunami evacuation buildings up and down the coast.Wang has helped design a prototype for Cannon Beach, Ore., which is seriously considering building the first tsunami refuge in the United States.

WND Report – Copenhagen Goal Is One World Government

A former science adviser to British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher says the real purpose of the United Nations Climate Change Conference in Copenhagen on Dec. 7-18 is to use global warming hype as a pretext to lay the foundation for a one-world government.

“At [the 2009 United Nations Climate Change Conference in] Copenhagen this December, weeks away, a treaty will be signed,” Monkton told a Minnesota Free Market Institute audience on Thursday at Bethel University in St. Paul.

“Your president will sign it. Most of the Third World countries will sign it, because they think they’re going to get money out of it. Most of the left-wing regimes from the European Union will rubber stamp it. Virtually nobody won’t sign it,” he told the audience of some 700 attendees.

The End of Money and the Future of Civilization

October 18, 2009 by admin

It’s too late for anyone to pretend that the U.S. government, whether under President Barack Obama or anyone else, can divert our nation from long-term economic decline. The U.S. is increasingly in a state of political, economic, and moral paralysis, caught as it were between the “rock” of protracted recession and the “hard place” of terminal government debt.

Even if the stock market can be shored up by more government borrowing for “stimulus” spending, it’s a temporary reprieve, because nothing can bring back the consumer purchasing power that was lost when the banks stopped pumping money into the economy through out-of-control mortgage lending. We simply no longer have the job base for people to earn the income they need to live.

The underlying cause of the crisis is in fact the debt-based monetary system, whereby the U.S. ruling class long ago sold out our nation and its people to the international banking cartel of which the Rockefeller and Morgan interests have been the chief representatives for over a century. It was lending on a previously unheard of scale for overpriced assets to people and businesses unable to repay that created the bubbles that burst in 2008, not only in the housing market but also in such areas as commercial real estate, equities, commodities, and derivatives. It was an explosion that reverberated throughout the world.

The pale halo has social networkers speculating that it could be either a UFO or a sign from God. But experts say it is simply a natural phenomenon.Talking to the Daily Mail, a spokesman from Moscow’s weather forecasting service said: “Several fronts have been passing through Moscow recently, there was an intrusion of the Arctic air too, the sun was shining from the west – this is how the effect was produced.

“This is purely an optical effect, although it does look impressive,” he added.

“If you look closer, you can see sun rays coming through that cloud. Most likely, the sun was setting when the video was being made.

“If you observe clouds regularly, you may see many other astonishing things. Clouds of the same class may look absolutely different in different areas,” he said.

2012 Forecast: Food Riots, Ghost Malls, Mob Rule, Terror

A trends forecaster says the current economic “rebound” from last winter’s Wall Street collapse of banks, insurance companies and automobile manufacturers is an artificial blip created by ‘phantom money printed out of thin air backed by nothing.”

And Gerald Celente of TrendsResearch.com, says people right now should be bracing for “the greatest recession” which will hit worldwide and will mark the “decline of empire America.” Crop failures could be among the minor concerns.

“Here we are in 2012. Food riots, tax protests, farmer rebellions, student revolts, squatter diggins, homeless uprisings, tent cities, ghost malls, general strikes, bossnappings, kidnappings, industrial saboteurs, gang warfare, mob rule, terror,” he writes for a quarterly publication that is available through subscription on his website.

The recent surge in Wall Street indexes back to near the 10,000 level, still far below the 14,000 prior to the crash, should be no reassurance for anyone, he said.

Do Christians Justify Celebrating Halloween

October 11, 2009 by admin

pumpkin_patch

Well it is that time of the year again… Halloween. But what gets me is that I am amazed at how many Christians celebrate it in one form or another. People justify it by calling it innocent fun, or even go as far as “Christianizing” it by having a “Fall Harvest Festival” or dressing up kids in your favorite biblical character.

But when the rubber meets the road, this is Satan’s high holy day.

Folks, If you are a christian, you know that too. There is no claiming ignorance on this one.

So being a Christian, why are you even dabbling in celebrating this day at all?

Scripture says…

Romans 12:2 (KJV) “and be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.”

Christ suffered and died for our sins, he gave his all. It is our reasonable service to live a life holy and acceptable unto Him.
