President Barack Obama says that while he’s dedicated to expanding homosexual rights, many Americans still cling to what he calls “worn arguments and old attitudes.”
At a White House celebration of Gay Pride Month, Obama said he hopes to persuade all Americans to accept homosexuality. “”There are good and decent people in this country who don’t yet fully embrace their gay brothers and sisters — not yet,” said the president. “That’s why I’ve spoken about these issues — not just in front of you — but in front of unlikely audiences, in front of African-American church members.”
Obama acknowledged that many Americans still disapprove of homosexuality. “There are still fellow citizens, perhaps neighbors or even family members and loved ones, who still hold fast to worn arguments and old attitudes,” he stated.
Survey: Churches Losing Youths Long Before College

“The next generation of believers is draining from the churches, and it causes me great personal and professional concern,” said Ken Ham, founder and president of Answers in Genesis and a Young Earth creationist.
Hoping to shed light on what he believes is a monumental problem, Ham enlisted the services of America’s Research Group to study why young people were leaving. The results, published in Already Gone, will shake many churches to their very core, Ham states in the new book.
While previous surveys have shown that Christian students tend to quit church during their college years, the data collected by ARG found that most of them were already gone in middle school and high school.
According to ARG’s survey, 95 percent of 20- to 29-year-old evangelicals attended church regularly during their elementary and middle school years. Only 55 percent went to church during high school. And by college, only 11 percent were still attending church.
“They’re sitting in our churches right now … and they’re already gone,” Ham said during a “State of the Nation” address last week.
Delving deeper into some of the reasons for the exodus, the research group found that nearly 40 percent of the surveyed twentysomethings first had doubts about the Bible in middle school. Another 43.7 percent said they first doubted that all of the accounts and stories in the Bible are true during their high school years. Only around 10 percent said they first became doubtful about the Bible accounts during college.
Among those who said they do not believe all the biblical accounts are true, the top reasons they gave for doubting the scriptures were: “it was written by men” (24 percent), “it was not translated correctly” (18 percent), “the Bible contradicts itself” (15 percent), and “science shows the world is old” (14 percent).
Thousands March In Jerusalem Gay Pride Parade

About 2,000 participants in a gay pride parade have marched peacefully through Jerusalem.
In past years, the gay pride event in the holy city provoked violent protests, even stabbings, by ultra-Orthodox Jews and extremists. But this year, except for one egg-throwing incident, there were no clashes.
Police said they arrested the egg-tossing protester. Others put up signs and demonstrated in an ultra-Orthodox section of Jerusalem, far away from the parade.
The marchers waved rainbow and Israeli flags and donned rainbow dresses, shirts and headbands.
The parade was more restrained Thursday than a gay pride march in more secular Tel Aviv earlier this month. One marcher scolded another for removing his shirt, saying, “This is Jerusalem.”
Police sources said Wednesday that this year the parade is not expected to stir violent protests.
Police believed the controversial event would run smoothly as leaders of the ultra-Orthodox community - who in past years have led anti-gay protests - decided not to protest to avoid exposing their young people to the issue of homosexuality.
As a result, only 1,600 police officers were assigned to the parade, compared with 12,000 in 2006.
Israel Trying To Boost Image With Gays?

The sun was just beginning to sink into the Mediterranean as the couples took their places under the fluttering wedding canopy: three sets of brides and two sets of grooms.
In a nod to Jewish wedding tradition, a member of each couple stepped on a glass to seal the deal. Except in this wedding the centuries-old words that finalize the Jewish marriage contract were uttered with a twist: “If I forget thee, O Tel Aviv, let my right hand wither, let my tongue cleave to my palate if I do not remember you, if I do not set Tel Aviv above my highest joy.”
Replacing the traditional “Jerusalem” with “Tel Aviv” was a pronounced statement in Israel’s first municipal gay wedding ceremony and reflected the fact that it only could have taken place in Tel Aviv, the most open and liberal of Israel’s cities.
The wedding, although just symbolic because the marriages are not recognized by the state, was seen as a sign of how far Israel’s gay community has come since its coming-out as a tiny movement in 1974, when a handful of activists wearing masks marched in front of Tel Aviv City Hall demanding equal rights.
Calvin Klein ‘Shock Billboard’ Appears In Soho

The latest racy billboard hoping to shock people is in SoHo, and it features four partially clothed models in a sexually suggestive situation.
It’s hard to offend a New Yorker with an advertisement, but that’s not to say that people won’t keep trying. The latest racy billboard hoping to shock people is in SoHo, and it features four partially clothed models in a VERY sexually suggestive situation.
A billboard is supposed to catch your eye, and in this instance, consider that mission accomplished.
Normally we associate each story with an image and a link. I can’t do that in this case. The image, in my opinion is so obscene and unfit for a Christian to view I can’t in good conscious do so. We only post this story to draw the parallel to Sodom and Gomorrah and to show you how close this day lines up with bible prophecy.
“It’s just completely out there,” one mother said. “I don’t want the kids to see it.” “I think it’s telling people it’s okay to do that, and it’s kind of gross,” Aleasha Stephens, a tourist from Houston, says.
Photography teacher Laura Friesen snapped a photo of it, and plans to discuss it with her students in Denver. “I took a photo to show it’s shocking, but it can also be on a billboard in NY, and this is what can be in New York,” Friesen said.
The billboard uses sex to sell Calvin Klein jeans, and it is not the first time – and that’s why some people just shrug it.
Arrest Made In Flash Mob Beating

A flash mob is a large group of people who assemble suddenly in a public place, perform an unusual action for a brief time, then quickly disperse. It is organized via social media, text messaging or viral emails. In this case, the group apparently formed only to rampage, riot and beat anyone in their path.
Police today made their first arrest in the vicious beating of a man during a rampage by throngs of attackers who invaded South Street two weekends ago.
Stephen Lyde, 21, was arrested at his residence in the 5400 block of Sansom Street, West Philadelphia, at 11:30 a.m., said Capt. Laurence Nodiff, commanding officer of South Detectives.
Many of the people who descended on South and Broad Streets on the evening of May 30 appear to have been directed through text messages and online social networking sites - creating a type of spontaneous gathering known as a “flash mob.”
However, Nodiff said, Lyde was not tracked down through the Internet. Detectives expect to make more arrests soon.
The victim, who police say is 54, was riding his bicycle on his way home from his job at the Wistar Institute in University City around 11:30 p.m. when he was confronted by eight males at Broad and South, Nodiff said.
“They brutally and viciously beat him to the ground, to unconsciousness,” Nodiff said.
The victim was transported to Hahnemann University Hospital in critical condition with brain swelling, a skull fracture, facial and rib fractures, an internal injuries, Nodiff said.
He remains in the hospital.
The Wistar Institute declined to comment, citing employee confidentiality.
That night, menacing mobs were involved in four major incidents. A cab driver was assaulted and robbed around 12th and South Streets and his taxi was taken and crashed a couple of blocks away. A paralegal working for the district attorney and a companion were pulled from a vehicle on Broad Street and assaulted and robbed. And a man standing outside a McDonald’s on Broad was hit in the head with a metal object. The wound required six stitches.
The assault at Broad and South was the most brutal, Nodiff said.
Lyde is charged with aggravated assault, robbery, riot and related offenses.
Since the rampage last month, Nodiff said, patrols have been stepped up in the South Street area and police will have “zero tolerance” for any criminal activity, no matter how minor.

Hooking Up - Sex Without Intimacy Trend Growing
June 11, 2009 by admin

Hooking up is becoming a trend, not only among college students, but increasingly among 20-somethings who have entered the work world. As many delay marriage, they are trading dating for hookups — casual sexual encounters with no strings attached.
The hookup — that meeting and mating ritual that started among high school and college students — is becoming a trend among young people who have entered the workaday world. For the many who are delaying the responsibilities of marriage and child-rearing, hooking up has virtually replaced dating.
It is a major shift in the culture over the past few decades, says Kathleen Bogle, a professor of sociology and criminal justice at La Salle University.
Young people during one of the most sexually active periods of their lives aren’t necessarily looking for a mate. What used to be a mate-seeking ritual has shifted to hookups: sexual encounters with no strings attached.
“The idea used to be you are going to date someone that is going to lead to something sexual happening,” Bogle says. “In the hookup era, something sexual happens, even though it may be less than sexual intercourse, that may or may not ever lead to dating.”
Young people from high school on are so preoccupied with friends, getting an education and establishing themselves, they don’t make time for relationships.
New Goal: Fun, Not Marriage
“Going out on a date is a sort of ironic, obsolete type of thing,” says 25-year-old Elizabeth Welsh, who graduated from college in 2005 and now lives in Boston. She says that among her friends, dating is a joke. “Going out on a date to dinner and a movie? It’s so cliche — isn’t that funny?”
It seems it’s far easier to have casual sexual encounters or hookups, though several national surveys of college students found a stalwart 28 percent who remain virgins. The term “hookup” is so vague, however, it might well encompass someone’s idea of virginity — it involves anything from kissing to fooling around, oral sex and sexual intercourse.
“For me, it’s been anytime that I was attracted to a guy and we spent the night together,” Welsh says. “It has been sex; it has just been some sort of light making out. That’s the beautiful thing about the phrase. Whatever happened is hooking up.”
Children In Gay Family More Likely To Be Homosexual

A licensed psychologist with both clinical and forensic practice outreaches is warning that it appears children of homosexual couples are seven times more likely to develop “non-heterosexual preferences” than other children, but lawmakers establishing policy often don’t know that because the researchers have concealed their discoveries.
“Research … although not definitive, suggests that children reared by openly homosexual parents are far more likely to engage in homosexual behavior than children raised by others,” said the online report by Trayce L. Hansen.
Studies she reviewed suggest children raised by homosexual or bisexual parents “are approximately seven times more likely than the general population to develop a non-heterosexual sexual preference.”

In a presidential proclamation on the White House website, Barack Obama has lauded what he calls “the determination and dedication” of the LGBT movement by proclaiming June as “Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender Pride Month.”
President Barack H. Obama”The LGBT rights movement has achieved great progress,” Obama states in the official proclamation, “but there is more to be done. LGBT youth should feel safe to learn without the fear of harassment, and LGBT families and seniors should be allowed to live their lives with dignity and respect.”
The proclamation, released on Monday, credits the LGBT movement with being a factor in more Americans who ascribe to those groups “living their lives openly today than ever before.”
George Tiller, Abortion Doctor Gunned Down In Church

A suspect in the fatal shooting today of Wichita abortion provider George Tiller was arrested in Johnson County and is being returned to Wichita to face charges.
The 51-year-old male suspect was arrested about three hours after the shooting without incident near Gardner on Interstate 35.
Tiller, 67, was shot just after 10 a.m. in the lobby of Reformation Lutheran Church in Wichita, where he was a member of the congregation.
Tiller was serving as an usher at the church, one of six ushers listed in the church bulletin. He was handing out bulletins to people going into the sanctuary minutes before being shot.
Tiller’s family issued a statement through Wichita attorneys Dan Monnat and Lee Thompson.
“Today we mourn the loss of our husband, father and grandfather. Today’s event is an unspeakable tragedy for all of us and for George’s friends and patients.
“This is particularly heart wrenching because George was shot down in his house of worship, a place of peace.”
Police had said they were looking for a white male who was driving a 1990s powder blue Ford Taurus with Kansas license plate 225 BAB. The vehicle is registered to an owner in Merriam.
The car was spotted shortly before 2 p.m. just south of Gardner by two Johnson County Sheriff’s deputies. They were quickly joined by three other sheriff’s patrol cars.
Lt. Mike Pfannenstiel of the sheriff’s office said officers pulled the car over just south of the main Gardner exit and got out with guns drawn. The man then got out of his car with his hands up.

ACLU Sues Schools Over Homosexual Website Access

The American Civil Liberties Union has made good on a promise to sue two Tennessee school districts.
Knox County Schools and Metropolitan Nashville Public Schools are blocking certain pro-homosexual websites from access, but also websites that oppose the lifestyle (see earlier story). The ACLU has filed a lawsuit, but Mat Staver of Liberty Counsel tells OneNewsNow the school district policies are good.
“These websites, whether pro or con, should not be in public schools. Public schools are not the place to have this debate,” he contends. “This is an environment to educate and train children, but not to indoctrinate them in homosexuality.”
Matt StaverStaver believes the ACLU is using the courts to try to force the homosexual agenda on the students. “This is the essence of the ACLU. They want to push a radical, anti-family, anti-religious agenda down the throats of Americans, and they want to do it through the public school system because they know if they capture the youth, they will literally own the future,” he says.
Liberty Counsel has offered to represent the school districts for free.

American Marriage - Prepare For Polygamy & Triad Marriages

Some Americans are now pushing for threesome marriages, also called “triads.”
Polyamorous marriages would involve two women and a man, or vice versa. However, many Americans do not know that those relationships are already occurring.
Matt Barber of Liberty Counsel tells OneNewsNow the existence of triad relationships exonerates those who have been warning that polyamorous and polygamous marriages would be the next step if homosexual “marriage” is legalized.
“Proponents of same-sex marriage have screamed and yelled and said that we were lying, but here we have proof positive that in fact once you radically redefine [what marriage is], once you break marriage, then anything and everything becomes marriage,” he contends.
Matt BarberBarber adds the true motive is to destroy the institution of marriage. “Because that is an institution that was given to mankind from God — so this all boils down to rebellion against God. And they will rebel in any way that they can,” he says. “They will create new ways of doing evil — and polyamorous, triad marriages are just an example of that.”
Wash. State Woman 1st Death Under New Suicide Law

Linda Fleming was diagnosed with terminal cancer and feared her last days would be filled with pain and ever-stronger doses of medication that would erode her mind.
The 66-year-old woman with late-stage pancreatic cancer wanted to be clear-headed at death, so she became the first person to kill herself under Washington state’s new assisted suicide law, known as “death with dignity.”
“I am a very spiritual person, and it was very important to me to be conscious, clear-minded and alert at the time of my death,” Fleming said in a statement released Friday. “The powerful pain medications were making it difficult to maintain the state of mind I wanted to have at my death. And I knew I would have to increase them.”
With family members, her physician and her dog at her side, Fleming took a deadly dose of prescription barbiturates and died Thursday night at her home in Sequim, Wash.
Chris Carlson, who campaigned against the new law with the Coalition Against Assisted Suicide, called the death unfortunate.
“Any premature death is a sad occasion and it diminishes us all,” he said.
Compassion & Choices of Washington, an advocacy group that aids people who seek to use the law, announced her death.
Last November, Washington became the second state to have a voter-approved assisted suicide law. It is based on a law adopted by Oregon voters in 1997. Since then, about 400 people have used the Oregon law to end their lives.

Student Who Auctioned Virginity May Have to Pay Taxes

The teenage student who sold her virginity for $13,827 could have to hand over half of her earnings to the taxman.
German inland revenue investigators are studying reports that Alina Percea, 18, was paid in cash for a weekend of sex with a middle-aged Italian businessman after auctioning her virginity online.
Prostitution is legal in Germany — where Alina studies — but hookers are taxed at 50 percent of their earnings.
The Romanian-born computer studies student is allowed to work in Germany for 90 days as long as she arrived on a student visa, even as a prostitute.
But because Alina earned so much in such a short time she may also be liable for a hefty VAT bill.
A German inland revenue spokesman said: “If we have hard figures then we can make an accurate assessment.”
