Joel Rosenberg writes, events are moving so quickly in the epicenter it can be difficult to keep track of, much less understand the big picture. So here it is in a sentence: An apocalyptic storm is forming over the Middle East.
Consider the data points:
1. Iran has just been caught secretly building a 2nd uranium enrichment facility on a military base in the religious capital of Iran, a city known as Qom;
2. A growing number of Western military analysts say the design of this new facility — and its secrecy, and location — clearly indicates it was being built by Iran for the purpose of creating nuclear weapons;
3. Iran has thus been caught in its third lie since 2002 with regards to building secret nuclear development facilities in Natanz, Arak, and now Qom;
4. Ahmadinejad refused four times during his NBC News interview last week to rule out the building of nuclear weapons;
5. A.Q. Khan — the father of Pakistan’s nuclear weapons development program – has just admitted selling advanced nuclear weapons blueprints years ago to Iran for millions of dollars;
6. The latest IAEA report indicates Iran has enough low-enriched uranium (LEU) to produce enough high-enriched uranium (HEU) by 2010 to produce two nuclear weapons;
7. Iran has just spent the weekend testing “its most advanced missiles” capable of reaching Israel;
8. Iranian leader Mahmoud Ahmadinejad began his speech to the U.N. by praying for Allah to hasten the coming of the Islamic Messiah, which according to his theology requires the destruction of Judeo-Christian civilization as we know it;
9. Ahmadinejad spoke more openly about his End of the World theology during his U.N. speech than ever before;
10. Ahmadinejad was asked for the first time by an American reporter to describe his relationship with the “Twelfth Imam” and admitted on camera that he is communicating with this mystical Shia messiah.
Joel Rosenberg – Obama To Say It’s Time To Divide Jerusalem
I’m horrified by reports this morning that in his June 4th speech in Cairo, President Obama will say it is time to divide Jerusalem and make the holy city the capital of a Palestinian state.
No, Mr. President, it is not.
Jerusalem is and should be the eternal, undivided capital of the Jewish people and the Jewish state. Dividing Jerusalem will not make peace. Rather, it would send a message to every Radical Islamic jihadist around the world that Israel is weak, that the Jews won’t even defend the sovereignty of their own capital, that there is “blood in the water,” and that it is time to strike Israel and wipe her off the map. Dividing Jerusalem would trigger an apocalyptic war in the Middle East the likes of which the region has never seen. Already, the Radicals believe Israel is doomed to destruction. Hearing that the American President is now ready to apply intense pressure against the Israelis to divide their capital will only embolden the Radicals and convince them further that Allah is on their side, the wind is at their back, and they will soon triumph over the Jews and Christians.

Netanyahu’s remarks were too short — only 5 minutes, 30 seconds — but they certainly got to the point: “There is something significant that is happening today in the Middle East, and I can say that for the first time in my lifetime, I believe for the first time in a century, that Arabs and Jews see a common danger….The common danger is echoed by Arab leaders throughout the Middle East; it is echoed by Israel repeatedly; it is echoed by Europeans, by many responsible governments around the world. And if I had to sum it up in one sentence, it is this: Iran must not be allowed to develop nuclear weapons.”
Stopping Iran from getting The Bomb is clearly the Israeli leader’s top priority. But he also made it clear that he sees the possibility that Arab states could end up working together closely with the U.S. and Israel against the Iranian threat. He’s heading to Egypt next week at the invitation of President Mubarak. He said he’s prepared to reach a “final peace settlement” with the Palestinians via a “triple track” of political negotiations, security enhancements, and economic growth initiatives. He did not say explicitly that he favors a “two state solution,” because the truth is he does not believe in giving the Palestinians a full sovereign state, including the right to have an air force, the right to forge strategic alliances with Iran and Syria, etc. He stressed the importance of the Palestinians recognizing that Israel is a “Jewish state,” something Mahmoud Abbas and the Palestinian leadership still can’t bring themselves to say.
Senator Jon Kyl (R-AZ) gave an excellent but sobering address Monday night, following the Prime Minister. He warned that “Pakistan could fall to the Taliban in the next six months,” and that the country’s 100 or so nuclear weapons could fall into the hands of Islamic Radicals even before Iran gets the Bomb. He noted that the government, police and military in Pakistan seem “almost powerless” to stop the Taliban Radicals.
Sen. Kyl’s main focus, however, was Iran. He described a recent meeting he had with Prime Minister Netanyahu in which the PM asked, If all measures to stop Iran from getting the Bomb fail by this summer, what will you do? Kyl posed the question to the audience at least three times, “What will you do?” He said that he is not opposed to the administration’s desire to engage Iran diplomatically, but said there must be a “short and hard end date.” He also said, “I don’t know what we would give Iran that it wants more than the Bomb.” He has introduced new legislation with Sens. Joe Lieberman and Evan Bayh aimed at imposing severe economic sanctions on Iran’s oil, gas and banking industries. But he did not express confidence that such measures would necessarily work.
My conclusion after several days at the AIPAC conference: the mutually warm words of appreciation for 61 years of U.S.-Israel relations notwithstanding, a train wreck is coming between the Netanyahu administration and the Obama administration over Iran and the “peace process.” I pray it can be avoided, but at this point Netanyahu and his team understand the apocalyptic death cult they are facing in Iran, Hezbollah and Hamas, and President Obama and his team do not. Netanyahu is preparing to take action to defend Israel and the world from the nightmare of a nuclear armed Iran, and Obama is not. All the more reason we need to pray for the peace of Jerusalem and show unconditional love and unwavering support to the Jewish State and the Jewish people as never before.
Glenn Beck, Joel Rosenberg Discuss Iranian Threat

GLENN BECK: Something else happened today which was our stance now on Iran has dramatically changed yet again. Just a few months ago under Bush, no talks ever. It has always been that way since 1979. Then President Obama said, “Well, let’s start with some conditions.” And now, the Obama administration is about to drop even that condition. “Well, let’s just talk, even if you have a nuclear thing, whatever. Let’s sit down and talk.” Joel Rosenberg is here. Joel Rosenberg is the author of “Inside the Revolution.” Joel, I don’t even know where to start with this one other than I guess maybe with an interview that I did with Benjamin Netanyahu about two years ago and I said, “You guys are being set up.” And he said, “What do you mean?” I said, “I think the world is going to start pushing towards, `Oh, let’s just be friends with Iran.’” This was way before Barack Obama. And I said they’re going to lose the window. Everybody is going to push for peace, and then you’re going to have to go in because you can’t let these nut jobs have these weapons. And you guys are going to be deemed the bad guys and the rest of the world will pound you. And he said, “Well, be it as it may but we have a right to survive.” Do you think that scenario is coming true?
JOEL ROSENBERG, AUTHOR, “INSIDE THE REVOLUTION”: It is coming to fruition. I think this is a very bad scenario right now, Glenn. Yet the prime minister of Israel Netanyahu understands that there is an apocalyptic, genocidal death cult running Iran right now….They are determined to get the nuclear weapons and destroy Israel. As we talked about before, Israel is only the little Satan. The United States is the great Satan. And as I quote extensively in the book, the president of Iran and top leaders of Iran want to annihilate the United States. And the idea that we will drop this pre-condition and not force Iran to stop enriching uranium before we sit down and talk is a huge mistake. I would describe it as appeasement.
BECK: How did you describe — an apocalyptic what?
ROSENBERG: An apocalyptic, genocidal death cult is running Iran today.
BECK: No, that’s weird, because I think that’s the way that NBC News the media describes my audience. I’m not really sure. You know, people don’t –
ROSENBERG: But you’re not building nuclear weapons. There’s a difference, see.
BECK: Not that you know. Joel, here is the thing that I don’t think people understand. It was about three years ago that I read someplace about the 12th imam. And I went — wait a minute. Wait a minute. Who’s the 12th imam? And I started looking into it because Ahmadinejad always ends his speeches at the United Nations with “Oh, Allah, give me the strength to hasten the return of the promised one.” When you say apocalyptic, genocidal death cult, you’re not kidding. I want you to explain that and then explain why people in our country – the state department seem to have a problem with religion except over in the Middle East with crazy people. More on that next.
